Obstacle
# 3 was the final obstacle run for the day. The obstacle was basically a big
U. The first leg was a fairly easy uphill climb, if the gates were not there!!
The gates were extremely tight in this first leg, and generally had rocks or
tree stumps in between the gates, which the vehicle had to straddle. Once up
the hill, the course then entered a valley with more tight gates placed on top
of rocks that crossed up the vehicle fairly nice. The final leg consisted of a
tight 90 degree turn down the valley. This course also contained a bonus
section (worth -15 points) for those willing to try it. The course was
extremely tight, and very challenging. Bobby Holt started the course and
pointed out at the top of the hill climb. Jody Gaddis followed Bobby with the
same results. Scot Hornby made the first leg a little easier while spotting
for Tim Fleming. Scot used brute force and moved one of the rocks that was causing
trouble out of the way. This paved the way for Tim to negotiate the first leg
easier than those before him. BUT, Tim and Scot forgot to move the rock back
into place after they cleared it, thus making it easier for everyone after
them.
Brian
Rickard "walked" thru this course with a final score of 0 points.
Scott McKannan was not far behind with 5 points, and Larry Logestan with 6
points.
